Why should I sign up with Wild West Photos?
Having your own account will allow you to share thumbnail images with clients or friends, it will speed up the checkout process, and best of all, it's FREE. Click here to register with Wild West Photos.

2. How do I browse the image categories?
There are a number of ways to view photos:

a) Simply type a keyword into the 'search' field located on the left side of each page, and click the 'Find It' button.
b) Narrow your search by viewing the list of categories located on the "Image Categories" page.
c) Search for individual photographers under the category labeled "Featured Artists."

How do I purchase and download a photo(s)?
Simply add a photo or photos to your shopping cart and click the "Check Out" button. If you do not have an account with Wild West Photos you will be required to provide us with your billing and credit card information. Wild West Photos will only accept payment via credit card (Visa, MC or AMEX), through our secure online server. All photos will be provided in digital format via the web. Image CD's will be shipped via mail.

I'm a photographer.
How can I get listed on Wild West Photos web site?

If you would like to be listed on the Wild West web site, please fill out the online form located on our 'Contact Page'. We will send you a Wild West media packet that contains information pertaining to pricing, contracts, and the general submission process. You can also view and download copy of the 'License Agreement' by visiting the 'Pricing' page of our web site.

What is a digital watermark?
A digital watermark prevents the illegal use of an image and protects the photographers artwork from copyright infringement. Watermarks are placed over the top of our "comp view" images only. Watermarked images can be downloaded and used for comping purposed only. Once an image is purchased the watermark is removed. Click here to view a watermarked file.

Are the thumbnail versions FREE.
NO! Thumbnails allow you to preview images on the web site. They are still protected by copyright law and may not be used for any other purpose.

How do I calculate the final size of an image?
Wild West Photos does this for you automatically. Every photo contains a detailed list of specifications which can be viewed before the image is purchased. Use this information to determine if the image you have selected is the appropriate size for your specific needs. Please keep in mind that image sizes vary slightly from one photo to the next. Print and web only versions are clearly marked. BEFORE YOU PURCHASE make sure you have carefully chosen the correct size.

What does 'web only' mean?
Web only images are saved at a resolution of 72 dpi and they are intended for use on the web. You should not attempt to use WEB ONLY images in printed materials.

I'm having trouble downloading my photo! What now?

a) Try changing the extension to .jpg and open the file.
b) Some AOL members may have difficulties downloading images with the AOL browser. We recommend using Internet Explorer, Mozilla, or Safari.
d) You may attempt to download your image within a 24 hour period without additional billing.
e) If you are still having trouble downloading a file, please fill out an online support ticket and we will answer your question within 24 hours.
f) If your image download fails for some reason, please do not re-purchase that image.
g) Save files directly to your desktop for easy reference.

I've downloaded the image, but it's not opening - what now?
Try changing the extension to .jpg and open the file. If you are still having trouble downloading an image, please fill out an online support ticket and we will answer your question within 24 hours.

How long will my image be available for download after I've made the purchase?
Images may be downloaded for a period of 30 days after the initial purchase?

What is a 'rights managed' photo?
Rights managed products are high-quality photographs with a license and fee based on your specific use. The fee is calculated from several factors including print run, size, placement, duration of use and geographic distribution. At the time you order a rights-managed product, you will be asked to submit information that will determine your licensing fee. Rights managed images are identified by this following symbol near the file name.

What does 'royalty-free' mean?
Royalty-free pricing simply means you do not have to pay additional fees on a use-by-use basis. Once you have purchased a royalty-free image, you may use it multiple times for any number of projects without paying additional fees. Royalty-free images offer an economical alternative to rights-managed imagery. (Pornographic, defamatory, libelous or otherwise unlawful use of any image is prohibited.) Royalty-free products are identified by a '(Royalty-free)' notation below the file name.

There are two basic prices for royalty-free images:

Web only files are $75.00 US each.
Hi resolution files are $175.00 US each.

How does the rights-managed pricing calculator work?
The rights-managed calculator is a simple online tool that will allow you to determine the pricing for all of our rights-managed images based on their usage. If a rights-managed photos is selected for purchase, you will be asked to provide information regarding the photographs intended distribution. The fee is calculated from several factors including print run, size, placement, duration of use and geographic distribution.

Pricing for rights-managed photos are calculated by entering the following criteria into the pricing calculator fields:

INTENDED USEAGE: Brochures, print advertisements, billboards, etc.
FINAL SIZE: 1/4 page, full page, billboards, etc.
PLACEMENT OF IMAGE: Will the photo be used on the cover, inside spread, etc.
PRINT RUN OR CIRCULATION: 10,000 catalogs, magazine ad with a total circulation of 250,000 etc.
LIFE OF CAMPAIGN: One-time, Six months, one year etc.
DISTRIBUTION: Regional, National or International.

Does the information I submit to Wild West Photos remain confidential?
Wild West Photos does not sell, share, or divulge your personal information, including your email address, with other companies. For a complete overview of how we protect your information, read our Privacy Policy.

How can I be removed from your email list?
When you register with Wild West Photos, you have the option of informing us that you do not wish to receive email from us. If you would like to be removed please follow any of the instructions below:

a)

Email support@wildwestphotos.com (be sure to include the email address you wish to have removed in the body of the email and allow 72 hours for us to make the change).

b) Call or email us and simply ask to be removed from our mailing list.

Does my browser need to accept cookies?
Yes. The Wild West Photos website requires a browser that is enabled to accept cookies.

What is your refund policy?
Once an image has been downloaded we cannot refund that purchase. Be sure to read our license agreement before downloading any images.
